I have a very active 2yr old as well as 2 border collies and a fuzzy kitty in the home. These are great! I keep one for the upstairs and the other for the downstairs. They keep my house so clean even with everyone in and out of the house all day long.  I was a little skeptical about the Roombas because my pets do shed a lot in the summer. The Roomba is able to keep my SHAG carpet clean! I actually have a Dyson DC18 Animal, after I completely vacuumed I ran the roomba just to see. Well to my surprise it actually picked up even more fur! It's also awesome for our hardwood floors. I used to have to swifer twice a day. Now I just run the Roomba in the afternoon and again in the evening before I go to bed and my house is spotless!
