The construction quality of this Vitabath whirlpool is unmatched in the bathtub industry. Each bathtub's interior is made from a vacuum formed sheet of Lucite Acrylic in the color of your choice. The sheet is formed to the shape of your tub and the acrylic sheet is then backed with a thick layer of fiberglass, making the shell a strong 1/2" thick and nearly indestructible. Your shell's structure is protected by a 20 year structural warranty. Vitabath uses a special cold curing process when bonding their fiberglass to their acrylic shell. Normal fiberglass resin creates high amounts of heat when it cures. This heat can cause the bond between the acrylic and the fiberglass to deteriorate. Lesser quality bathtubs can suffer from a weaker fiberglass/acrylic bonds that can result in structural flaws later in life.
